On the Kubuntu NN Live ISO, Energy Saving now defaults to sleep after a
period of inactivity (I think this follows upstream KDE), even on AC
Power. If your laptop goes to sleep, you cannot wake it with the
password (which should be empty / no password).

It seems that when you try to change the password polkit doesn't ask for
authentication and doesn't do anything.
if you do something else before, like changing the real name, it
authenticates, and from now on, changing the password will work.

updates checked in Discover). Applied updates using Discover, and re-
booted. Krunner launced kinfocenter which reports KDE Plasma 5.12.6, FW,

I dd'd the ISO to a usb thumb drive
I booted the thumb drive
I saw the WEP network, selected it, and entered the key all in Network Manager
from the tray.
I did NOT
I ran sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/staging-frameworks
Then sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y
The update looked clean, and I re-booted my VM using the kicker
Application Launcher Leave > Reboot sequence (which sometimes does not
work in major Plasma upgrades).
After Rebooting
+ 1 from me.

Same here, using i3 window manager (so it's not KDE for me) and wicd.
The disable auto-connect workaround seems to alliviate the problem. Hope

I used to have a version from a PPA. After the upgrade I reinstalled it
completely. Maybe it's still some library from this PPA that has the
missing dependency but I wonder why it was not replaced by the official
precise version. All PPAs on my system are currently deactivated.

Ok, since this seems to be a local problem I guess it is not a digikam
bug. I found some instructions how to force all packages back to their
official version and I assume this will make digikam work again.
