Hi
gnome's UI to sudo has a nice feature which is to remember the password
introduced for 15 minutes or so, like sudo does on the command line.
Kde's kdesu doesn't have this behaviour and it's a bit annoying having
to enter the same password when doing system
If I try to remove libgstreamer0.10-0package I get a dependency error.

is this happening only on my pc?

kmplayer depends on gstreamer 0.10 and the default media engine in kubuntu is
xine
The point I'm trying to make is that I think it would be better if this
package used by default xine engine without forcing to install the
gstreamer packages. That way a default kubuntu install will have fewer
redundant packages (gstreamer and xine give similar functionality.)

with a right click action from kde-look. The file I'm saving is a Download.php
file, mainly because the kde-look server just redirects to another server where

Found some info:
If I load grub's console on boot, I can access (hd0,4)/grub/splashimages/FILE
I thought this was the problem, an incorrect path to the file, but after
changing it and rebooted there's still no grub splashimage.
I think this is a bug between grub and LVM.

This also happens on another pc I have with kubuntu dapper amd64
installed up to date.
I've also tried this with kubuntu dapper live cd flight4 and the same
error occurs.

I've found more problems related to this. If I hover over a konqueror
windows accesing a folder through the system:/ kioslave there's no
preview. Also, image files appear with an icon, not a preview. Since

Strangely this only happens in my 386 laptop. My amd64 doesn't suffer

FYI using the w32codec pack from player website in kaffeine with the
xine engine works flawlessly. Kubuntu dapper here.
