With the last up-to-date Kubuntu Dapper (6.06 LTS Beta 2), I cannot reproduce
the bug : using the live-cd, the network is fully working, and after the
installation on hard drive, the network is still correctly configured. So for
me, everything is ok now :)
Do you still need my
Mattziu: you problem is duplicate of bug 18069 which will get in official repo
probably tommorow. You will still need to remove problematic line manually from
/etc/network/interfaces.
sunwave: are you using kcontrol or System Settings (from K-menu)? I have tried
hard and could not reproduce
Can you publish your complete /etc/network/interfaces file?
You should have something like this for your interface:
auto eth0
iface eth1 inet dhcp
(or static if fixed IP is used)

If I setup manually the network card all is OK.
