This is also the case with KDE 4.3.1. Interesting thing to note, is this
issue doesn't seem to effect Lancelot, the other application launcher.
Could you all take a look at that and see if you can tell if it does or

KDE 4.3.1.

I am beginning to think maybe this bug is not in KDE itself, but instead
in fontconfig-config. Maybe I should change the package related to this
bug.

Manually forcing global subpixel rendering, by messing with
/etc/fonts/conf.d, does not fix this problem either. The main program
titles are still rendered with normal antialiasing, and the gray text
below appears to be rendering using BGR subpixel smoothing, instead of
RGB.
