This problem persists for me under Kubuntu Hardy Heron and KDE 3.5.9. It
was also a problem under Kubuntu Gutsy Gibbon as well.
I've just installed some programs via Adept Manager (2.1 Cruiser) and
whilst the majority of the appeared under the K Menu, there remained one
or two that didn't.
One
I cant confirm this. twice, on two different machines.
I've had this problem previously, and it seems to be a configuration
problem. On a new profile, all of the menu stuff works fine, whether
you install programs from adept, or apt-get, they still appear on the
menu.
Please reopen if you try

I also confirm this. The icon of any program I install using Adept
doesn't appear in the menu til the next login.

I tested more and found out that it seems to be related to adpet more than to
K-Menu.
When I first installed kolourpaint and superkaramba through adpet and
Add/Remove Programs respectively there were no icons created until next login.
When I then installed yakuake with apt-get the icon was
I can confirm. I had the same problem after an installation of KBabel.
The full menu entry wasn't created until next login.
