I agree with Dominic Sacré : It's not the DM's job to run usplash_down
at all. Someone please add this as a specification for Edgy Eft.

Binary package hint: amarok
Hi,
I have found amarok doesn't play this stream

While
mplayer http://streaming.nilefmonline.com/nrp?MSWMExt=.asf
works very well
Also, kaffeine does play it! Can you please check

Yes, I know that, but I think that for a newbie, adept should use kde
proxy server settings or, like synaptic, have a dialog that lets one do
that.

Maybe I'll say something stupid, but if I record well, there's a way to tell
debconf to use a Qt interface with somethinglike dpkg-reconfigure debconf.
That would be more user friendly, and would work around the problem.

kdm crash due to corrupted ~/.face.icon file
Is this on 6.06? Does it happen consistently? Can you please try to
provide a backtrace with debug symbols, by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash ? Thanks.

I wouldn´t allow the user to change the theme, (k)ubuntu has the nice
policy to have good defaults. So I would just disable all the settings
which are not appropriate and have no effect on the theme.

I still have this problem on Dapper Drake, updated via Synaptic at 3:00
EDT on 2006-06-06. The output from kcmshell displayconfig is as
follows:
$ kcmshell displayconfig
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 168
Major opcode: 145
Minor opcode: 3
Resource id: 0x0
I had the same probleme, but since I upgrade with the stable dapper release, it
works.
I had sometimes problemes with DRM audio CD ...

I probably found my solution: I turned off composite

Since then no freezing again. :-)

(If this was a Ubiquity installation, then it's a known issue that we
didn't have time to fix before release, but that's easy to fix for Edgy.
It should still be recorded rather than just worked around in other
package managers though.)
