Looking at all of these crash reports I'm getting the feeling that the
problem has to do with guidance not handling things when the xrandr X
extension is not available. In the past, calling XRRGetScreenInfo()
would just return null if the extensions was not available, maybe this
behaviour has been

I can confirm this problem.
It started happening after I upgraded to Kubuntu Feisty. The strange
thing is that sometimes Konqueror behaves like it should, and other
times (when opening Konqueror, or just a new window) as have the problem
as described above. I could not make out a pattern when
