Im not totally sure what you are suggesting, but this is not a new
feature, its a bug. Other distros handle hiding/showing shares on the
desktop fine within kde, it seems to be Kubuntu specific. Sorry if I've
missed something here.

what a weird solution I have found!
it seems that if I add
resume=/dev/sda3
to
/boot/grub/menu.lst after the line # defoptions=
then suspend to disk works perfectly!
I would still like to hear the reasons why I need resume=/dev/sda3 to
get successful hibernate

My media buttons are detected in the Global Shortcuts and the mute,
volume up, and volume down work for the system. Pause/Play, track
buttons, and stop does not work with Amarok. Amarok is the best, and
it's awful not having this feature. Hope this gets fixed soon.

adept_notifier to crash. I booted my machine this morning and crash
handler informed me that adept_notifier had crashed and asked me if I
wanted to report it. I hadn't noticed anything
