Binary package hint: kdebase
Well. I am getting this error in kubuntu 7.04 and i am unable to browse sites
with konqueror.
Even KDE 3.5.7 installation didn't resolve this problem. However there is a
little workaround for this problem: you can disable local cache in

I will try to rename my .kde folder to see if it fixes something

Here the problem is not that proxy settings in the browsers are ignored, but
that the env variable http_proxy is ignored too, but *only* for the upgrade
check.
The effect is insidious because the rest of the

Will it be possible to get an updated feisty package in
http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-357 in the meantime?
Or at least to remove kate 3.5.7 altogether from
http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde-357, so that the system does not update the
former 3.5.6 (that was working better) to 3.5.7?
Many thanks

Binary package hint: amarok
With amarok 1.4.6, rating a song from a global shortcut no longer shows
the OSD confirmation.
Steps:
o Observe a songs rating.
o Close/minimise amarok to tray
o Change the songs rating with a global shortcut
o Notice no OSD pop-up
o Confirm
I wouldn't say it's not a bug, but it is relatively unimportant and is
something that would need to be fixed upstream (and my guess is will be
fixed in plasma). Kicker is probably doing some sort of polling for
when the mouse hits the edge of the screen and should do it more
efficiently.

I see the same problem in Feisty Fawn. Does this depend on avahi
(zeroconf) at all? I am not using/running the avahi-daemon. This
output comes after creating /etc/rc.d and also the symlinks mentioned
above.
