[Bug 395019] [NEW] networkmanager plasmoid displays same network repeatedly

2009-07-03 Thread Jeff Trull
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: plasma-widget-network-manager

Since some recent update (in June?) the networkmanagement plasmoid
displays my home wireless network (WPA2) repeatedly - at least 15 times
in its list of networks. The list scrolls off the bottom of my screen
so I can't count all of them. Previously I could see several wireless
networks in my neighborhood but now only one appears. Every other
listed network is my home network.

Ubuntu 9.04
package version 0.0+svn966653-0ubuntu0.1

Expected behavior: a variety of network ssids displayed with none repeating
What happened instead: the same network displayed 15 times, plus one other ssid

[Bug 395019] Re: networkmanager plasmoid displays same network repeatedly

2009-07-03 Thread Jeff Trull
I just downgraded to 0.0+svn930811-0ubuntu2 and this problem went away.
Presently four different SSIDs are displayed.
So this is some sort of regression.

[Bug 338669] Re: (Needs UXA) painting artifacts after qt4.5 upgrade on intel chipset

2009-07-03 Thread Vu Ngoc San
wow, I'm going to try that.
I have been struggling with this bug for months. And in a working environment
where I usually try to convince my colleages that linux is better, I have to
say it was so embarassing that these artifacts appear all the time that
I would only hide my kubuntu... Not even to mention the fact that I often need
to make video presentations... what a shame.
I have tried all combinations of intel driver options and versions, none would
work.

[Bug 22099] Re: Kontact (well, kmail) crashes when deleting email from an imap-ssl folder

2009-07-03 Thread George Varghese
I am experiencing kmail crashes in Ubuntu Hardy. This happens when I try
to delete certain emails from IMAP account. Deleting other emails is no
problem. But I do not know the difference between these two kinds of
emails though. I have been using Kmail for some years. I did not
experience it before. Please see the crash report attached.

Further, the bug reporting in Kmail does not work. The error I see is

I'd like to try it too, because this bug upsets me. But I read about
KDE 4.3 RC 1:

Note that these packages have a bug which causes X to die during the
upgrade. The upgrade will continue and you can reboot when it is done.

So, how do you know when the upgrade is done? What time would you wait
before rebooting?

[Bug 395056] [NEW] wrong encoding when sending a mail to a groupware contact from alt-f2

2009-07-03 Thread Stéphane Magnenat
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdepim

I have my contacts stored on a kolab1 (ical/vcard) groupware type IMAP

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

First of all i have to say that i am not sure if this is the right place
since the bug i am reporting appeared in Kubuntu. But i do not seem to

Yesterday i checked the update manager and i had 6 blocked updates (they
were present since i installed the new version, something like a week

2009-07-03 Thread Harald Sitter
Agreed, though I don't think we can override this in the kubuntu-
default-settings, so I am moving the bug to openoffice.org.

Eventually the openoffice.org package should provide 3 branding (sun,
kubuntu, ubuntu) packages, this would probably also improve brandibility
for derivates in general.

I am open to suggestions on how to do that without introducing new
packages as well though :)

[Bug 353278] Re: [jaunty] kpackagekit doesn't prompt for user password

2009-07-03 Thread Leo Milano
@James: FIXED! Your packages simply fixed it here:

* I added you ppa @ my sources.list
* Updated from Synaptic, and I got the Icon from Update Notifier on my sys tray
* Of course, these updates were your packages, and Update Notifier failed to
upgrade (I just did it to make sure the bug was still there)
* I used synaptic to upgrade the Pol Kit stuff from your ppa
* I added the unsupported updates repo temporarily to see some new stuff, the
update notifier icon showed up again
* This time, though, I was able to update (the auth dialog popped up in her
glory). BINGO!

Excellent work. Of course we need some more people to test before
committing the patch, but most likely this is it.

Cheers,
Leo

[Bug 395392] [NEW] Installing kubuntu-desktop causes gnome themes to become kde hybrids

2009-07-03 Thread Philip Macpherson
Public bug reported:

Installing kubuntu-desktop caused the gnome themes to become a sort of
gnome/kde hybrid.

Some examples are;

-Some bit's of the menu bar are black like the theme, other bit's near icons
are silverish white.
-Words like the time/date and opened programs are covered by a sort of line
(see screenshot)
-The icons are different
-Other weird things like selected objects in nautilus and programs highlighted
in blue

Changing the theme in appearances doesn't help, through some themes have
less problems than others. I.e. Human theme while looking different at
least doesn't have multicoloured menubars

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and the version of kubuntu-desktop is 1.122

Erm, that's odd, it shouldn't have fixed it :-)

It was only supposed to help in getting some more debug information.

I've just realised that I uploaded the packages based on the karmic
versions, so there were more changes than I expected. I just uploaded
new ones with just the one change so we can narrow down what happened.

Could you now do the following:

  * Downgrade to the released packages in jaunty and check the bug is
still there. (if it isn't something weird is going on).

  * Install the +jw3 packages from that PPA and see if they fix it. If
they do then that patch does more than I expect, if not then it's
something fixed in karmic, so we can work out what.

Thanks,

James

Also, perhaps not surprisingly , running polkit-auth from the shell
works just fine (I get the auth popup)

polkit-auth --obtain org.freedesktop.packagekit.system-update

Cheers!
