As part of Kubuntu Raring Alpha 1 testing I tried out the Firefox
installer and it claimed to have installed the package, but it didn't.
From auth.log, it looks like permissions are correct:

I've been running the updated packages (including the newest kdepimlibs
package update from yesterday) without any signs of regression. My
impression is that some system stability issues I was having are
improved. Marking verification done for quantal.
