Hi Guys, It's 2016 and this annoying bug still exists. It is not even triaged.
And the workaround mentioned by Stephen doesn't work for me. Most links don't
have the html suffix (like in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500333)

Ubuntu 12.10, but new DVB-T HD HD video bugs as HD video broken since January
2016 updates.
SD video and SD audio still working. HD audio working either, but no more HD
video (green display).

12.04 in Kaffeine and till Ubuntu Xenial 16.04 which worked pretty fine since
December 2015.
After, It was still working but with a major degradation and slow down in the

I solved this (after about 14 hours...) by:
sudo ppa-purge ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
Now I am again on Plasma 5.4.3
Maybe one day I will try again to update via the Backports PPA and
replace the Xsession file.

I have two machines here running Kubuntu 15.10. One has nvidia graphics card
and it has this problem. The other machine has Intel graphics, and has not
exhibited any symptoms of this bug.
The machine with the nvidia graphics is using nvidia driver 352 (recommended in
system settings).

The package manager does not report installing a desktop

On Kubuntu clean install on each boot I see flickering at top of the screnn.
After changing any option in Settings => Display => Compositor everything
become OK, also I can then return to default changes.
But after reboot it's flickering again with any settings.
