You're confusing your kernel graphics driver for the Xorg graphics
driver. They're not the same thing and you need both:
* Kernel graphics driver = i915 (there is no other option and if you disable
it
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
On my Thinkpad W530 the external monitor attached to the dock only is
active until login. After login it disappears from available monitors,
loses signal and the internal monitor is active only.
Workaround: Uses X11 session.
So I don't need a solution.

I add options:
Option "TearFree" "true"
Option "TripleBuffer" "true"
artifacts remained, but they became smaller and not so annoying. I would
say half measure.

The new Xorg driver is called 'modesetting':
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/modesetting_drv.so
After you have uninstalled the 'intel' driver, if you still have

an official Ubuntu kernel version (did your mean 5.4.0-42-generic ?) i have
another problem - no sound i must update kernel to version 5.8 or newer for the
device to work properly.

For the moment this sounds like a bug in KDE/Plasma, but in case it's a
deeper issue please also attach a video of the screen while the bug is
happening.
