I've a fresh kubuntu 6.06 final and also for me it happens the corruption.
I've a nvidia 6600gt with nvidia-glx driver.
I've done a switch user leaving mine open, and then back to mine, after some
seconds computer crashed at all with a black screen and some artifact!
No mouse and keyboard!

I haven't ~/.face.icon file probably it crashed for that?

Colin I think it is also usefull that cdrom source is added to the dvd live.
In fact running the dvd without internet connection do not permit changing
language, option available only with internet.
I think this is another adept bug (just add cdrom live sources.list),

Previous case ^ only reproduced with 'new_user' as user name.
Try this third case:
- open an user
- change its password
- click ok
- click new user
- the password is the same typed for the user
reopen this bug, fixes is not so obvious one-liner :)

yes the bug is only when you drag from upper left corner to bottom right
corner, in the other three cases then only one pixel in the final corner
is added, that probably is another bug?
