If I go to settingsconfigure and change the schema, it doesn't get saved.
This happens with any schema, not just transparency. However, right clicking
on the konsole and choosing a schema works fine. (That's what I tried before
when I said I wasn't seeing the bug.) Is this the same for you?

My bad, you are right it only shows the splash screen for the last few
steps of shut down.

There is no such item in the help menu in Ooo2 in dapper, at least I'm not
seeing one. The links that ARE there work fine for me.

openoffice.org2 freezes KDE
Do you still get the error if you install 1.8 or 1.9 instead of 1.4?
kdevelop depends on one of the four.
Some applications require newer and sometimes older versions of automake to
compile. I don't think this is a bug in kubuntu.

Kdevelop is almost useless without automake 1.6
There have been updates recently to solve problems in both adept and (I think)
cups. Please update/upgrade and see if you still have these problems.
Also, please keep bug reports for different packages separate.
