I've also experienced this bug on my newly installed Kubuntu 11.10
64bit. With kdesudo systemsettings I can modify all settings (icons,
colors, etc.) but not qtstyle. I can confirm that workaround from #6
comment (use of qtconfig) affects qt style in application run as root.
