I have just upgraded to KUbuntu Saucy, and discovered that muon hangs on any
download attempt.
sudo strace -p says:

Just discovered that this bug also affects NVidia cards. The screensaver
itself never shows up, but its process silently runs in the background,
even after the screen is ulocked.

Then I am marking kde-workspace-bin package because KDE keyboard
configuration tool is there. However I cannot check this for sure, since
all KDE packages are mutually dependent and cannot be tested separately.

Well, for now the only possible solution I see is to try to downgrade
the kde packages to some previous version. Due to this bug I actually
stopped installing all updates on my home laptop since December and
until I find it is fixed (or until next Ubuntu release is issued in
April).

Should be fixed with K3b 2.
I have this problem with K3b 2 (see versions below). I set the writing speed to
4x, but it writes DVD-R at 12x. k3b uses cdrkit for writing.

2 possible workarounds for me, but no one is perfect:
- disabling 3D acceleration if running Ubuntu 16.04 as guest in VirtualBox
- starting qtcreator as Marius (#5) suggests: qtcreator -noload Welcome
