This problem affects me on Kubuntu 20.04 each & every time I resume from
standby. Wondering if this is ever going to be addressed, as it was
already reported more than four years ago?

Kubuntu 18.04. Nvidia propietary drivers 390.
The problem happens to me from time to time without doing anything specific.
I fix it by rebooting the computer or executing this command... I recover
the triple buffer, because when the fault appears I have tearing again.
nvidia-settings --assi
I am having this problem on Kubuntu 18.04. Using nvidia GTX 960 with 390
proprietary driver
