[Bug 94412] Re: Expire folders from file menu does not work with IMAP

2008-03-02 Thread Rob Hughes
No problem ;) Yes, the fact that you're using a single folder would
explain a lot. The expire function will work *if I refresh the folder
first* by clicking on the folder and letting it load all the headers.
But if I just do an expire all folders from the menu, then it fails. So
I guess maybe the best way to state this is that expire fails for
folders that haven't been refreshed, even though kmail shows the proper
number of mail entries.

Maybe it doesn't know what the dates are for each mail until the headers
are refreshed, but only the total number of mails in a folder? My mail
gets sorted into folders by rules running on the server, so the client
doesn't ever seen a specific email until i enter the folder it resides
in and click on it.

[Bug 94412] Re: Expire folders from file menu does not work with IMAP

2008-02-23 Thread Richard Johnson
Sorry for the length of time in between comments and the lack of
activity on my part. I take it this issue is still happening for you? I
use the IMAP server provided through my webhost for one account, and I
must have set it to expire in 30 days or what not, because all of my
mails greater than 30 days ago are gone. Oops :) Only difference I can
tell with my setup and yours, is I don't have separate folders,
everything is in one folder. I will search upstream to see if a similar
issue has been reported. I just dread that KDE bug tracker for kdepim :)
Thanks, and I apologize once again for the massive delay.

[Bug 94412] Re: Expire folders from file menu does not work with IMAP

2007-06-16 Thread Rob Hughes
I still have to click a folder before it will properly expire the
contents of the folder. For example, in one folder, I had 521 messages
as seen from the main folder tree view. I did an expire all folders,
then clicked the folder, which still showed 521 messages. I then right-
clicked and chose expire folder, and 111 messages were deleted.
