in our customized system we usually use gksu instead. IIRC kdesudo got
some problem when running by user clicking a desktop file, i.e., by putting
kdesudo into the Exec Ina desktop file. However I forgot what problem it
had since it's been a long time ago.

it's a bad idea to use kdesudo or gksudo to open a GUI app.

don't know much alternatives for running as root... I use a bash script thats
installed with bleachbit

alternative would be to add elevation to root to packages that require root
