Hi,
I'm now customizing Kubuntu 15.10 (and 16.04 later). I have some questions
about default settings of Kubuntu 15.10 and KDE Plasma 5.
1. How to overwrite the default desktop layout, which is defined in
/usr/share/plasma/shells/org.kde.plasma.desktop/contents/layout.js, and the

Hi,
I'm now trying customizing Kununtu 16.04.
I have a question: I set the activity template to org.kde.plasma.folder,
and when I add any widget on the desktop it would become like this:

Any way to add the widget without the white background?

all the network interfaces.
I'll try with the network connected later. However in our case we may need
to install without internet.
Even installing with network connected succeeds, I still need to get this
problem solved.
Thanks,

Hi,
In my customized version (i.e., before deployment) I always set the wallet
system to off in the global configuration. One if the reason is that the
name "wallet" confused users. They would think it as online payment tools.
Besides, I also turned off and removed *all* the kdepim packages
Hi,
Following my talk in Akademy 2017, I'd like to list my issues about
customizing Plasma5 in Kubuntu and hope that we can work it out together.
1. plasmashell doesn't honor the XDG related environment variables: I
set the XDG env variables like XDG_MENU_PREFIX, XDG_CONFIG_DIRS, ...
etc. in
Hi,
My experiences and thoughts about this topic:
1. ezgo, our distribution derived from Kubuntu, doesn't contain *any*
kdepim packages. No telepathy-*, no Kwallet, no KMail, even no akregator,
which I preferred to pre-install in the ezgo but finally gave up because I
was forced to install
Not yet (no idea and that's why I reported here). I'll look at it later.
How to do the "OEM Setup test" ?

in our customized system we usually use gksu instead. IIRC kdesudo got
some problem when running by user clicking a desktop file, i.e., by putting
kdesudo into the Exec Ina desktop file. However I forgot what problem it
had since it's been a long time ago.

Hi,
Is this a councillors only meeting, or open to anyone? Anyway this time is
not available to me, but I'd like to know if I can attend next time.

Hi,
My study of Look-n-Feel has some progress. Now I can use my own
look-n-feel package to change the wallpaper theme and so on.
The next step is /usr/share/plasma/shells and
/usr/share/plasma/layout-templates,
which define 1) Default desktop plasmoids and activities, and 2) default
panel

Thanks, I'll check them out.
Then the XDG env variable problem would be the next important one to take
care.
Great appreciated,

BTW, there are still some problems like plasmashell ignores

Thanks, I've submitted my test result and done testing installing in
OEM-Setup mode. Actually it ran successfully but with only one defect in
ubiquity installer. I'm not sure if in this case it should be set to
"Passed" or "Failed". For now I set it as "Failed".

Still need to test i386 version? Didn't Canonical drop i386 in 17.10?

Hi,
I've done both amd64 and i386 iso testing on VirtualBox. Both failed in

Interesting -- It works!! (2 cpus)
With UEFI disabled of course.
But on 32-bit virtual machine (1 cpu) it would fail like what I've
described.

I've done some tests too, and now i386 only OEM setup not passed. I
