Great, thanks for the translation! This list doesn't accept attachments,
but you can send me your translated ODG directly and I'll put it on the
wiki. In the meantime, you can spread the image on your Albanian social
media channels (I'm not sure what you have, but I know there's a
LibreOffice Albania Facebook group, for instance).

Cheers

Hello Mike and everyone,

I translated the infographic to the Albanian (sq) language and exported
it as PDF, where should I post it? I attached it here hoping this list
accepts attachments.

While looking at the Turkish page for donations, I came across
"http://tr.libreoffice.org/ba-yapn/;. The link ba-yapn is probably for
"bağış yapın" (donate) and the Turkish characters were omitted. Can you
also make this "http://tr.libreoffice.org/bagis-yapin/; so it is more
sensible, or should I open a ticket on Redmine?

Hello Mike,

By "paying" in the fourth box you mean as in hiring them and paying
their salary right? Or are these payments not related to any hiring
relation, i.e. made as a motivation for some volunteer contributors.
These have to different words in Turkish so I wanted to clarify.

Also, what does "funding tenders" mean? Like: "announce a tender and
fund it with donations so some entities apply to win them and then the
winner works on the job with an agreed amount of payment"? Sorry I
couldn't find a better explanation in my mind :)

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] TDF donations infographic for translation

2017-09-11 Thread Sveinn í Felli

Hi,

Just tested the files; the PDF can be opened in Draw without much damage
(just a little justification problem in the topmost text).

I guess the *version* of the Vegur font-file matters a bit.
Oh, and the second-last line is in a font called Vegurular ???

Also opened the SLA in Scribus 1.5.2svn, the last line
(www.libreoffice.org/donate/) is truncated. Again quite possible that
font parameters have evolved, either in Scribus or in the Vegur font.

IMHO I think that normal translators should not be asked to use highly
specialized (newbie unfriendly) software like Scribus - rather we should
encourage folks to use the LibreOffice applications as much as possible.

For me, Draw is just fine...

Best regards,
Sveinn í Felli

Ah yes, sorry, I should've mentioned that I used Scribus 1.5.3. It is
the development branch, but the wiki says:

"Scribus 1.5.3 is very fast and has been thoroughly tested. Generally,
everything that works reliably in 1.4.x also works in 1.5.3"

If there's demand, I could remake it in Draw of course!

Mike

It's not about not trusting Scribus 1.5.3 but rather that lot of long
term supported distributions are based upon Debian stable and lot of
them will have Scribus 1.4. Installing from source is scary for majority
of users and that majority will run 1.4.6.

If you think Scribus is better suited for this job, is it possible for
you to install 1.4.6 and redo it in Scribus 1.4.6 rather then Draw?

But Draw should work too.

Yes, that makes sense. I installed both in parallel and hoped I could
paste from one into the other, but 1.4.6 has serious problems trying to
handle the content: http://i.imgur.com/Zhdp44m.png

So it looks like I'll have to remake it from scratch...

This version of Scribus is in repository of Debian Stretch.

Think that 1.4.x is stable branch and 1.5.x is developement branch.
