The Eastside Los Angeles Netsquared group invites to you to attend: "MOBILIZED: using mobile phones as key tools for social change"
Tuesday, September 28 · 6:00pm - 8:30pm More than half the world’s population now has access to a mobile phone, and mobile access to the Internet will soon exceed desktop computer-based access, according to some measures recently released by the International Telecommunications Union. Organizers and activists everywhere are leveraging the power of mobile technology to help create and circulate content, gather data, coordinate mobilizations, raise funds, pressure decisionmakers, and much more. This session will provide an overview of how to integrate mobile tools into your transmedia communications strategy, followed by some hands-on tool demos and a rapid share session to help you formulate your mobile plan. Facilitator: Sasha Costanza-Chock Postdoctoral Research Associate at USC's Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, Fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, and community board member of VozMob.net.
