Dear Friends, John Johnson was in a car accident on Tuesday. He is physically OK, but his car was totaled. John has published the local Change-Links Progressive Calendar for 20 years: _www.change-links.org_ (http://www.change-links.org/) . There is no other paper like Change-Links. It has been very important to people involved in the Anti-War/Peace & Justice Movement in letting them know where & when events are happening. Over the last 12 years I have taken out dozens of ads in Change-Links for events I have hosted or been involved with. For the last 20 years, I have published and distributed the progressive newspaper and calendar Change-Links. We distribute the nonprofit, volunteer run, newspaper to the greater LA area and have a Webpage. I really haven't made money on this at all. On Tuesday, June 26th, Bo (a volunteer) and I were delivering the July issue of Change-Links around LA to about 40 locations. Towards the end of our route we got into a bad car accident on Vermont near Skylight Books. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but my 2003 Chevy Tracker turned over on its side. We managed to crawl out without any serious injury. But the perfect condition of my car was destroyed. We have no funds to purchase another one. I had to rent a car through my car insurance. This puts the paper and me in dire financial straits. We desperately need funding to keep this valued newspaper alive My car was totaled. I'm 68 and get Medicare and food stamps just to get by.
