In todays, Sunday Los Angeles Times, edition, the second page is dedicated to the 1967 Century Plaza anti-war demonstration and riot.
I was there and in front of the March. As we got in front of the Hotel where President Johnson was , I urged folks to stop and have a rally (they were going to march back to the park). I was joined by a few others then the Progressive Labor Party formed a line.. Since there were close to 20,000 folks there it got very crowded. Except for loud anti-war chanting folks were peaceful. But the cops decided it was an unlawful action and just attacked us with billy clubs and more. I was in a group that got push into a construction site. I was getting hit by the police. I got down to Pico and was in between to rows of cops who started to beat people, One guy sit down and got the crap beat out of him. As I was getting surrounded by cops, a car came though the crowd and it was a girlfriend and I hopped into her car, just in time from getting the crap beat out of me.
