Since it is illegal to put alarming things in the press that would
frighten the public, and the government can't or wont do anything about,
this is an item you'll not see in the US Main Stream Media.

Last year, the level of fall out along the California Coast and states
West of the Rockies was so great, the fall out alert level was raised 3
times by Secretary of State Clinton, since the initial Fukushima disaster.

This is not the first time the warning levels have been raised, it was
happening in the 1960's during the last of the US, open Atomic Bomb tests
in the Pacific.

Dear Friends,

This petition continues to be relevant. Item 1 confirms the ongoing
danger- Japan lacks funds and expertise to get the spent fuel out of unit
4 quickly. The area continues to be rattled by strong earthquakes almost
daily, up to 6.0. Another 9.0, predicted to happen soon, would topple the
pool, draining the water keeping the fuel rods from catching fire. If
they do, the resulting release of radiation would force evacuation of the
entire site, and reactors 1, 2, and 3 would melt down again. This would
equal 40-80 Chernobyls, placing the entire planet at risk.

Item 2 shows that, even though the site was ostensibly nationalized last
June, the TEPCO system of subcontracting, to 400 different companies with
7 or 8 layers of delegation, remains in place. Many of the subcontracting
companies are owned by gangsters, and this evidently continues to be true.

Item 3 addresses the increasing censorship of news about Fukushima
Daiichi. It will take external pressure to expose the truth and mobilize
world resources to prevent catastrophe. Please continue to circulate this
petition.

Peace, Carol Wolman, MD

Report from Jiji on January 30, 2013 meeting of the Fukushima accident
council with summary translation by Fukushima Diary:

[...] Mr. Kurokawa, the chairman of the governmental accident
investigation committee commented the SFP of reactor 4 is the crisis
in front of us. The entire world is concerned about that.

Mr. Kitazawa, the chairman of the council stated it takes a while to
remove all the spent fuel from the pool. There is no appropriate
solution for that.

  Date: January 31, 2013

Criminal organizations are cashing in on the disaster that shook
Japan nearly two years ago by sinking their claws into all aspects
of recovery operations to skim off handsome profits.

Police have just turned up an instance of a gang member brazenly
providing laborers to help clean up contaminated areas in Fukushima
Prefecture, and pocketing part of their wages. [...]

"The recovery operations involve a lot of money, so they are a
godsend for gangs that have trouble making money due to a police
crackdown on gang activities," a gang insider said.

The man said these groups have been involved in the demolition of
buildings and the disposal of waste in devastated areas. [...]

  Source: Jiji Press
  Date: Jan. 30, 2013

Japan plummeted to 53rd from 22nd last year in the 2013 press
freedom ranking released by Reporters Without Borders, a Paris-based
nonprofit organization, on Wednesday.

Japan "has been affected by a lack of transparency and almost zero
respect for access to information on subjects directly or indirectly
related to Fukushima," the group said in a statement, referring to
the crisis at Tokyo Electric Power Co.'s crippled Fukushima No. 1
nuclear power plant. "This sharp fall should sound an alarm," it
added. [...]
