Don't miss this rare opportunity to see and hear from revolutionary
artist, thinker and independentista Elizam Escobar, direct from Puerto
Rico, where the former political prisoner (19 years in US custody) is
recognized and revered for his creativity and his sacrifices and
struggle for Puerto Rican independence.

On Saturday, March 25 at 7:00 PM, the main community event of the "Not
Enough Space" exhibit of art by Puerto Rican political prisoners
Carlos Alberto Torres and Oscar Lopez Rivera will take place at
Self-Help Graphics and Art, 3802 Cesar Chavez Avenue, in  East Los
Angeles. Elizam Escobar, a world renowned Puerto Rican artist and art
theorist, and a former political prisoner himself from 1980-1999, will
be the featured speaker. Come on over after the big March for
Immigrant/Indigenous Rights downtown! Fidel Rodriguez of KPFK's Divine
Forces Radio will m.c.

The event will also include performances by Arieto Borincano, a bomba
y plena group from San Diego, Aztlan Underground, Quinto Sol, Wild
Horse native drummers, an African drum ensemble, Los Kache, Hip Hop
Universe, Guerrilla Rap Nation, and Danzantes Azteca Cuauhtemoc.
General T.A.C.O. of the Black Riders Liberation Party, facing a
political frame-up trial locally, will be among the other speakers. 

The show is sponsored by the National Boricua Human Rights Network and
 locally by the Puerto Rican Alliance, Jericho Amnesty Coalition and

On Saturday, April 8, at 1:00 PM, Noelle Hanrahan of Prison Radio (who
has recorded most commentaries by Mumia Abu Jamal) and Ray Boudreaux,
former Black Panther political prisoner, will speak at Self Help in
the closing event of the exhibit, which wraps up 2 days later. Dedon
Kamathi of KPFK's Freedom Now! will m.c. You can attend this event and
still make it to "We the People" at Watts Labor Community Action
Center for Fred Hampton Jr. and Maxine Waters, plus many musical
groups, later that day.
