New One Day Class: the Fall and Winter Garden Overview

In Southern California, Fall and Winter are the busiest seasons for gardening.  
Join us as we prep the soil for (late) Fall, early Winter planting.

Saturday December 4, 2010 1:00 PM: Volunteer Work Party (we feed you!).  
Prepare yard and materials for the class the following day. Includes some 
weeding, mixing of soil and water for soil nutrient test, worm bin maintenance, 
clean up and a more in-depth discussion of material to be taught the following 
day. Volunteers receive free admission to Sunday’s class.

Sunday December 5 2010 1:00 PM:  $30 (or reciprocity, contact us for details, 
or volunteer on Saturday.)  Children under 12 with parent, are free. All youth 
under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent. Class covers: soil 
testing, soil prep, organic fertilizers, selecting and planting herbs, garden 
design elements,  some container gardening, books and other resources and 
answering general questions including accessibility issues in organic

or sweat equity,  in reciprocity for the use of the space and the services 
provided.  No one is turned away for lack of funds, and everyone, regardless of 
their ability has something to contribute (we promise!!). We recognize the 
increased value of labor reciprocity, as an element of mutual aid, community 
building, recognition, communion, education and sharing. If a financial 
contribution is not possible, or if you would rather contribute your skills and 
abilities, please contact us to work out a suitable exchange.
