This is what I do, too. It means that you can keep what you have unwound
off bobbins with the reel of thread and you have short lengths available if
you run out of thread on a project.

Hi, I simply place spool and label into a small, self sealing plastic bag.(
I used to put the label in the spool tube but found that they often dropped
out and got lost). I can then see the label quickly and easily, and the
thread stays clean!
