DVDs in the UK and Europe are region 2. USA is region 1. Some specialised
DVDs do not have a region code.
US DVDs can't be played on UK DVD players unless the DVD player is multi
region or if instructions are followed from a DVD region hack web site to
change the region of the DVD - haven't

I haven't seen that particular pattern, but normally where you have a half
stitch section with a different-coloured edge pair, the edge pair are the
passives nearest to the edge and you work through them in cloth stitch (CTC)
or cloth stitch and twist instead of half stitch (that way
I bought a foreign movie on eBay several years ago, and it would not
play on my DVD player here... But oddly enough, it was just fine
playing on my laptop! So... if you have problems using the DVD player,
just pop it into your computer and see if it will work.
