Hi Susan and everyone
That was a lucky save, and the piece looks lovely.
Just so you know, Borax is the common name for the naturally occurring
crystalline element sodium tetraborate decahydrate, and Borateem though
mostly borax, has a few additives. Both are just fine for whitening
fabrics,
Very well rinsed, but alas, no distilled water on hand. I definitely had a
brain freeze when I saw the soot & leaped into action. Must be more mindful
in future. Sorry to disappoint you Jeri! Susan

Dear Susan,
Duly noted. Did you rinse until you were willing to drink the rinse
water? And, was at least the last rinse in distilled water? I will feel
better, if you did.

Hello All! If you heard screams earlier today, it was me. While removing my
just completed convention jewelry from the bolster pillow, I realized that the
pricking that seemed to have been covered with plastic film was not. Dark,
ugly smudges covered my pale yellow Idrija cotton lace--EEK!
That is great news--thanks Adele! A very generous sample & I won't run out in
the middle of a small project. This year, my spool is variegated blue & last
year it was "Carmen Miranda" tutti fruiti colors so this should be fun. Susan
