Hello everyone, Well, Jane O'Connor wanted me to post this so here goes... Modern and Contemporary are so close in meaning that I think they should be tossed out. It should be: 1.. Traditional 2.. Mixed Lace 3.. Or - give it a new name. Lacemakers who design are: 1.. Traditionalists 2.. Inventors (perhaps we see a lace that needs a name) 3.. Rebels (Way different piece) Doris O'Neil really did give me a better understanding of the lace terminology where modern and contemporary are concerned. So I have learned a lot from the discussion.
