for sale up on a local auction site - open to only Australia and NZ, but
could bid for anyone who is interested... I have done this before.

Is this book really now worth $275 dollars? I have a copy in my bookcase,
why is it worth that much. Is it really so scarce?

Well, the worth of anything can be defined at what people will pay for it. If
somebody pays $275 for the book, then I guess that's what it's worth, but it
would be a surprise to me.
When I saw the listing I looked up the title on www.abebooks.com, I found four
copies, all listed between $213
It is currently listed in Holly Van Sciver's catalogue for $24.00. I
assume she still has copies.

I was just about to put some books on ebay including Le Pompe 1559 when
I noticed another offer of the same title they were asking a starting
bid of £49.99 the reason stated was it was 1983 first edition with ISBN
0 903585 16 2 - mine is identical but I was always under the impression

I have the same edition of the book and I would say that £49.99 is a
rather inflated price for a 25 year old paperback!
