I joined Arachne just after the first anniversary. My husband set up a computer for me, sat me down, and said "Type something". I typed 'Bobbin lace', Arachne was the first thing that popped up, and the rest is history. I had been making lace only a couple years and learned so very much from the discussions.
The next year the members started talking about having a conference, and Arachne 98 came into being, thanks to two generous ladies in Nottingham, England. I was able to meet 60 of you in person and made several good friends, one of whom lives only 40 miles from me. We went all the way to England to meet. Arachne is a tremendous resource for information. Thank you to Liz for starting the List, and maintaining it all these years.
