You are going to beat most of us local to the convention! LOL That early on Sunday you should have plenty of people watching to do! Yes, Von Maur (about as upscale a dept store as you will find in this area) is within walking distance. There are also a few restaurants nearby. Alas, the cupcake store isn't open on Sunday. Be sure to check it out during the week! YUMMMM!
If you enjoy walking, there is a trail behind the hotel that I believe goes down along the river. Be warned the humidity dial is being cranked up tomorrow and I'm not sure if it is coming down much by Sunday. Temps are in the mid-80's for the next few days. Low chance of showers too, but nothing big. I will keep you in mind if we need some extra helping hands. Because there is not much we can do because of the Anime convention you may not see many of our group until later in the afternoon.
