I don't actually know how much it was reduced by, but my guess it was based on Deborah Robinson's 'Plotadot' two-way logarithmic grid which is printed on page 34 of the book. As Deborah's Plotadot grids are the only readily available logarithmic BL grids I'm fairly sure it it would have been one of those that Margaret Flux and the others in Jane Atkinson's workshop would have used.


By measuring the distance from the centres of adjacent areas of closely spaced pinholes, in both directions on the pricking and the grid I calculate that the original was reduced to 72% and to get back to the original size the pricking needs to be enlarged by 135%

The length:width ratios of the pricking and grid aren't *exactly* the same but that could be the result of photocopying the original design before it was published - see the recent thread on photocopying v making new master copies by pricking.
