My first thought isWhat kind of pins are you using? I use nickel plated
steel and have never had any marks from them.
Most of my starching is pinned out on a cardboard that has wax paper or plastic
wrap over it. I use regular spray starch on that.

yes, lacy things which become deco-laces should be starched. And because I
often work such things I starch them.
First I put a kitchen-paper on my pillow and than the pricking on it. Finished
the lace and having pushed in all pins I bring the starch-liquid with a small
brush carefully do

My procedure for starching/stiffening a lace with a commercial stiffener:
1. I use some sort of plastic or tape layer over the pricking (my
usual choice is magic tape, quick and cheap but there are many other
options)
2. I place a layer of dollar-store craft foam over the pil

• Do any of you use a hairdryer to dry the starch while it is on the pillow?
