Hi, I couldn't resist coming on. I don't usually. I agree with Brenda, if you can and enjoy hand sewing your lace go ahead. I love making lace and have made more than most. I hate sewing and don't do any. I machine all my lace. Though now, so I can get on to the next piece, someone else does it for me. When I go round shows I have seen beautiful lace ruined by the hand sewing to the fabric and also the sewings. So when I talk to the ladies I tell them if they have lots of lace laying in drawers and folders waiting for middles they are never going to do machine them in. Nervous? Buy some of the machine made cheap lace bundles readily available from markets and practice around a handkerchief. I had a lady ring me 3 weeks later to say she had put middles in 20 pieces of lace which were now all over her home looking lovely. So some of you ladies say it is "horrible" each to their own. I have seen lots of "horrible" hand stitched and like every part of lace do what you enjoy and makes you happy. I'll go now. Vivienne
