Hi all and yes, T - the discussion would be better placed in its own IOLI
Forum - for the benefit of the IOLI itself - if such a forum could be
possible.

[it is a plan of mine to set up such a forum for the Canadian lacemakers
 - it is do-able, but needs time and a computer geek]

Planning a large gathering of lacemakers is never simple. ack, it's a job
and a half for everyone taking part in the organizing.

The venue, whether a commercial or non-profit facility [like a university]
is often a deciding factor in many things - for instance the management's
policy on vendors, and rules for same, event insurance, wheelchair
accessibility, room convenience (classroom or accommodation), lighting...
This all will vary depending on the venue and can create headaches in the
conference planning - but some things can be cast in stone, or at least in
a policy manual, and at the very least, in a list written by the previous
organizers to help the next group.

That's all I'm going to say here and now. My picket is hanging up outside
if anyone wants to consult. LOL
