There are a number of big fan patterns around, or you could enlarge a
smaller one, though coarse lace doesn't usually look good on a fan.
The main thing is that you *MUST* be sure that the lace will fit your
sticks before you start making it. It's not only the diameter of the

Could you do a combination of fabric and lace, e.g. silk, and get away with
a reasonably 'less wide' (as opposed to 'narrow' ) lace trim?

Louise Colgan also has a wonderful book with lace fan patterns. In color and
different bobbin lace styles (in Torchon , Beds, Bucks and Russian).
It is called bobbin lace fans.

My daughter bought me the Anne Collier one way back, but no one pattern
jumps out at me yet. Mind you I keep looking and often they grow on me but
I like to change some elements. I think everyone has things that really
appeal to their senses more than another design, am I right?
