Hi everyone and Jacquie who wrote: > In the same article is a reference to American Ipswich lace bobbins being made of bamboo. If memory serves me correctly, in a much later IOLI bulletin, in an article on Ipswich lace, I read that the bobbins were made from a particularly rush that grew in the area - the rush itself must have resembled bamboo? I think there are some of the bobbins still in existence (and I think I have a photo of them sent to me by a lace friend, somewhere in the clutter that is my lace place....). -- bye for now Bev in Sooke, BC (west coast of Canada) Cdn. floral bobbins www.woodhavenbobbins.com - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
