[lace] Hacked mail

2019-06-01 Thread Elizabeth Ligeti
Just a warning to everyone that I think I have been hacked, as some people are
getting a strange email supposedly from me, with a weird web site link in it.
No it is NOT from me!
My “sent” folder has been wiped clean by someone – not me, and the only
letter there was one to a friend sent 3 weeks ago. The rest had all
disappeared.

Why don’[t these mongrels get a Real job, and leave us all alone?!!

Thanks for that Italian site link, though. That was real, and what marvellous
needlelace shown there. That Gros Point (My favourite to make) is fantastic,
and those gorgeous trees in that type of lace! Wow!!!

I am “stuck” with tatting only, these days, - and I am really enjoying it.
With all these “New” techniques, - like split rings, Mock rings, etc I am
learning heaps, and having a good time, keeping my fingers busy!!
And Tatting is SO portable, too! As per Noelene’s wonderful poem, I
always have some ”Tatting in my Pocket” (well, in my handbag, anyway!!)

Regards from Liz. L.
Melbourne, Oz, where it is cold, grey, and wintery!!

(I hope your friend can read Italian! A search of JSTOR produced an even
100 pubs that mention sfilato but most are in Italian...)

Check with Angharad Rixon at textilesupport.net: email
i...@textilesupport.net. She is an expert on Italian lace and will be able
to tell you what's out there.

Another source for scholarly papers would be to put sfilato into the search
engines of publication databases such as ProQuest or JSTOR, or searching
academia.edu and researchgate.com might bring up researchers who have
published something on it.

[lace] Sfilato Siciliano drawn thread

2019-06-01 Thread Jane Bawn
I have a friend who is trying to find out more information regarding this
type of embroidery. You are all so knowledgeable that I feel sure that
someone has heard of it and can point me in the right direction.

I have tried googling but not a lot comes up. I am not sure whether I
should have sent this to Lace Chat as it is not strictly lace however I feel
it is lace related.

Thank you for any help you can give me.4
