Re: [lace] UK Lace magazine
Mine arrived today, so you aren't last Liz. I had read it, because I do the proof reading, so I'm never quite as anxious as others to receive my copy, although it is good to see it all finished, rather than printed out on my second-hand paper that I can scribble on as necessary. My magazine arrived safely a couple of days ago â at last. There is a lot of good reading in it, -- and an idea I am playing with for a competition piece, has had a nice prod, by something in the magazine which travels along the path my thoughts were going! So that was a big help to see that I was thinking along the right lines...! I need to improve my typing, as I had a bad typo in my last email â I Have received a form for the Lace Exhibition in Philadelphia, (My typo said ânotâ instead of ânowâ! Sorry.!) I have started tatting a sleeveless vest â in small squares â from a Russian pattern. Its a good thing their numbers are the same as ours!! And they have a clear diagram, - which I enlarged! It is something I can work on while travelling - a 15 hour plane flight, 4 or 5 hours at LA airport, then another 5 hour flight to Philly, should give me time to tat a few squares!!! I need about 75 (or more) !!! You donât have to be crazy â but it helps I am using #20 DMC Cebelia, which is nice and soft, and pleasant to use. Regards from Liz. Re: [lace] UK Lace magazine
The Lace Guild has taken the overseas postings back in-house as the late and even non-arrival of the magazines being sent from the mailing house, allegedly by airmail, was just not acceptable to us any longer. As used to be the case, the overseas magazines in future should be arriving at much the same time as the UK ones, which will still be sent by the mailing house. I'm very happy that my copy of Lace #147 has arrived today. I was pleased to see that the tatted lace on the back cover was made by Europa Chang with whom I shared a hotel room in Caen at the OIDFA Congress. I was sorry that while at Caen that I didn't get to meet Ilske Diane Z and several other UK Arachneans. But I did finally meet one of my second cousins at the Mayor's reception. It was hard to read name tags I know that my name tag kept turning around so that it was always back to front. Maybe if flags were printed on the name-tag attendees wouldn't have to ask where people were from. I think that trying to read small print from a few feet away is hard for many of us who are short sighted. Now I have to write a report of my trip, soon before the memories fade. ;-) Ciao for now, Pene in Tartu, Estonia where we just had a hot Sunday (33C). - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Hi Pene I have just received my Lace magazine today and on a quick perusal it looks like a good read. I must find a nice quiet time with no chance of interuptions to sit in a deckchair in the garden and enjoy it. Hope you have received yours too. Hi What a lovely thought - sitting in a deckchair in the garden reading - we have what the weatherman called 'cyclonic gloom' damp and dreary weather to the rest of us! [lace] UK Lace magazine
My UK Lace #116 arrived today. There is lots of great articles to read, and colour photos inside as well as on the covers. One thing I have to get somehow, is the 2005 Calendar. The theme is titled Friends Around the World. Patterns come from many countries around the world, including Australia Estonia!! So I have to get one some how, preferably before Xmas. I once gave the calendar as a gift at the NELG gift exchange. The days here are beginning to be too short for my liking, Penelope Piip [EMAIL PROTECTED] City of Tartu, Estonia - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
