[lace] 2017 Motif exchange

2017-08-18 Thread J Reardon
I received my motif from my exchange partner, Lin Hudren, in yesterday's mail.
It was her own design of a bobbin lacemaker done in Romanian Point Lace. It is
very pretty and very well executed. I already thanked her privately. This is a
real treat for me because I've wanted to learn this technique and now I have an
example of what it should look like. A funny coincidence is that the card she
sent me was homemade featuring her dog and the one I sent her was homemade
featuring my cat.

Thanks, Lin for organizing the exchange and setting it up to minimize deadline
stress. It provided the impetus to use a book I've had on my shelf for over a
year but hadn't tried.

[lace] 2017 Motif Exchange

2017-04-30 Thread Lin Hudren
I have been asked if I would consider hosting another exchange. I am
retired and love making lace in all sorts of methods. Always wonder where
I can send it to be appreciated. So, I am offering to host a "motif"
exchange. This has no designated rule of thumb. Do you have a heart
pattern you would like to make but have no one to share it with? Do you
want to make that giraffe that you really want to be challenged to make but
don't know where to send it where it will be appreciated? Well, let's see
what can be accomplished and shared. I know I have 3 motifs I want to
create that I would like to share.

If you wish to participate, I am offering the following schedule:

May 1-18 Sign Ups

May 20Exchange partner assignments made and emailed out

September 1stAll motifs should be in the mail (hopefully)

Look forward to your response.

Hugs, Lin and the Mali
