I think an Arachne table at the IOLI convention is a great idea. *Because of the Arachne list*, I located and subsequently met a lacemaker during my trip to Bulgaria, and I wrote a lengthy article about her that appeared in the most recent IOLI Bulletin.
(Followup on that: the Bulletin editor sent me an extra copy, which I mailed to Bulgaria; I saw a photo on the Bulgarians' SediankaTA Facebook page with several of their local craftspeople looking at that issue of the Bulletin!) It's been fun to participate in the ornament and bookmark exchanges too, and some representative photos from those would make a nice display at the convention.
