[lace] Duchess of sussex wedding veil
Thank you for further clarification on veil construction Tess! That’s not good news for the couturier industry. I was under the impression that LeSage moved production to India where skilled hand embroidery could be produced at a much lower cost, hence my speculation that they could have been involved. Makes me wonder how much more can actually be saved by doing appliqué on tulle? That’s really fiddly & involves lots of snipping & embroidery unless they used water soluble stabilizer. Oy! Thanks Annette! Your information could mean that LeSage was involved. I think there was/is a business relationship with Givenchy (& other houses) for tamboured work. If memory serves, I think they created the “Sunflower” jacket for Givenchy back in the day. If my memory is faulty, perhaps someone will correct my recollection.
