Yes, I wanted to make the wise men have richer looking clothes - hence the
purple, and gold in them. The Virgin Mary is often depicted with blue and
rose garments - sometimes white, but I was trying also to get a balanced
effect in the piece.
I also used some slubby silk threads in the
You Christmas comet looks great. I think the colors are more in line
with what was worn back then, since rich colors were probably only
worn by those with a lot of money.
