This may sound odd, but I wish I had been around in the days when Doris Southard was teaching at the IOLI conventions! By the time I met Doris in 2002(2) she was 80+ years old and no longer teaching. I do have a photo of her working on her pillow but didn't have an opportunity to spend much time watching her make lace. I think it would have been wonderful to have taken a Tonder class from her! I imagine there are still some lucky people out there that did have that pleasure!
Speaking of Miss Channer.... I think it is a safe bet that one of our member's will be displaying her completed mat in the exhibit room at the IOLI convention this year! See you soon!!!
