thousands of pairs of knickers! What an excellent idea: I know that, if
I'd lost all my clothes in a disaster like that, I'd be delighted to receive
them.

Chinese Gooseberries originally came from China. They were a very small,
hairy and somewhat tart fruit until the New Zealand orchardists developed
them into what they are today, and then marketed them as Kiwi
You're right there, Maxine, Chinese Gooseberries did come from
China. I've got several growing in a shade house in my back yard
(trees ? vines? - thickish trunk, but more like a vine) but I don't get
decent tasting fruit from them, although they do fruit quite well.
