Here in Melbourne I have autumn crocuses out and in bloom. They are the big mauve ones that flower without leaves now , in Autumn (Fall) and send up their leaves in Spring. We actually had 5mm of water in the rain gauge this morning - a light drizzle over night, - only about the 3rd measurable

I didn't see any bulbs coming up as our beds still have snow cover, but driving down to Hilton Head it was nice to see the trees in bloom and to enjoy warmer weather even though the sun was not out.  This morning it is thick fog!  Hopefully the sun will come out but rain is expected in the late

Just got back, last night, from a week's vacation in Jamaica where it was +28c. Here it was -25c with wind chill and snowing. Another 15cm or so yesterday to give us almost 2.5 metres so far this winter. Probably still 2 foot of snow with 3-4 foot snow banks. I think there are daffodils,

I'm jealous of both of you. We still have a foot of snow on the crocuses, the daffodils are a l-o-n-g way away. However, the very early crocuses across the street are uncovered. With a little sun I think they'll bloom! It does my heart good. Jane in Vermont, USA jvik...@sover.net Treacle
